It looks like we are not allowed to post anything unless we subscribe.
After my initial disappointment on not being able to use the locals board as a free collaboration site, something reminded me of Peter Schiff saying, do you want freedom or free stuff?
That’s the choice here. Sure we can use Zuckbook or Instagram or Twitter but… they are censoring all the good content and dumbing us down. They want to clip our wings and keep us in our mental cages.
Locals was created in direct response to that. It is a site that we control. But it’s not “free”. So why pay the 2 bucks per month?
Because we will be more free. That $24 per year will support this alternative platform where you can say what you please and not be kicked off or shadow banned.
And secondly, let me be very transparent about what the fees will be used for and what do I get for my time here… for me, networking with some of the most interesting people out there is my reward. To foster these connections and keep the conversation going is worth it for me. How about you?
I hope we can get 50 to 100 subscribers. That would be $1000 to $2500 per year approximately, before locals take their cut. For the remaining money the Nomads site makes, let me suggest three things;
1. We use it on the next NCL meet-up for booking an outing or tack on an extra day of networking.
2. We book some zoom sessions with some interesting paid guests that we can learn something from.
3. We suggest a bunch of charities we like, then do random selection and / or voting and donate the money.
Or a combination of any of them.
What will the membership look like? You can join and read / see everything for free, but you can’t contribute. You can subscribe to be able to post and get tips on your posts, and I’ll set the promotional code of 1 month free to be used unlimited times. So if you really don’t want to or can’t pay you can cancel and re join indefinitely, but consider what your time is worth. Finally, I’ll look how to set a yearly fee with a further discount.

You would have to be living under a rock to not have heard about AI. Artificial Intelligence, either the great savior of human kind, or the precursor to Sky-net that will destroy us all. Which is it?
First of all, this post was NOT written by AI. So apologies for any mistakes. There is a confusion in terms I believe, as most of the AI's people are thinking of (ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc.) are really LLM or Large Language Models. These are not really "intelligent" but just using mathematics to predict what words are needed to complete the question. Which is why people say AI "lies" too much. Not really, its just predicting words that complete the query and has no concept of what even lying really is.
So is it a bubble? Is it the next industrial revolution? This is the question of the day, and to help answer it, let me point to a few videos that have just been released that give relevant information:
